Course Overview

This program was developed to prepare in-house trainers (e.g. Safety Personnel / Supervisors / Workers) to deliver Fall Protection training at an employer’s workplace.
Note: This 4-day training program includes both the 16-hour Fall Protection and 8-hour Fall Protection Equipment Inspection training programs as preparation to become an in-house trainer.

Training Objectives

Upon successful completion of this training program, participants will have a better understanding of the WorkSafeBC legal requirements that apply when a worker may be exposed to a fall hazard, as well as the methods / equipment available to protect a worker. Participants will also learn how to incorporate Adult learning techniques when developing a Fall Protection training program. Lastly, participants will learn how to develop a training program for their work environment through the delivery of a short training module on the final day of training.

Intended Audience

Persons responsible for providing in-house Fall Protection training for workers who will be using the components / equipment used in a Personal Fall Protection System. All participants must develop and present a short training module, as well as achieve a minimum of 80% passing grade in order to receive a record of training upon successful completion of this training program.

Course Duration

Four days (32 hours).
Note: this course can be modified based on the specific requirements of a customer’s worksite / work environment.
