Course Overview
Training Objectives
Upon successful completion of this training program, workers will have a thorough understanding of the WorkSafeBC legal requirements when exposed to a fall hazard. In addition, participants will learn how to properly select, inspect and use / donn the equipment which is typically used in a Personal Fall Protection System (PFPS). The training will include a practical demonstration of a variety of anchors, harnesses and connecting components such as energy absorbing and self-retracting lanyards. In addition, participants will be instructed in the 3 Critical Skills which are necessary when using a PFPS, and most importantly, how to calculate the required fall clearance distance in the event of an accidental fall from heights.

Intended Audience
Any worker who may be exposed to a potential fall hazard, including the End Users of a Personal Fall Protection System, and Supervisors who direct workers to work at heights. All participants must achieve a minimum of 80% passing grade in order to receive a record of training upon successful completion of this training program
Course Duration
Full day (8 hours).
Note: this course can be modified based on the specific requirements of a customer’s worksite / work environment.
